Taiwo Atlas — Lagos, Nigeria
Most of the work that ends up in this archive didn't start as a design brief. It started as a badly organised set of facts — a security company's list of services, a researcher's six years of studies, an author's book, press kit and event calendar arriving as three separate documents. The job, before any interface exists, is turning that into a structure someone else can navigate.
That's the part of frontend work that doesn't show up in a screenshot: deciding what the navigation actually needs to contain, what a visitor needs to see first, and which parts of a complicated subject can wait until the second click. The visual design follows from that decision, not the other way around.
Taiwo works comfortably with technical and regulatory complexity — security systems, compliance workflows, agricultural machinery specifications, legal intake — because the interesting part of the job is usually in the parts other developers find tedious: the edge cases, the empty states, the sixth filter combination nobody tested.
How the practice developed.
First independent concept projects
Began building self-directed case studies — security dashboards, e-commerce concepts — to practice information architecture on genuinely complex subjects rather than template layouts.
First client engagements
Moved from concept work into commissioned builds for small businesses and professionals needing their first serious web presence.
Range expands
Projects diversified across sustainability, logistics, luxury services and industrial equipment — deliberately choosing unfamiliar sectors to keep the underlying skill (structuring unfamiliar information) sharp.
Interactive systems
Began building genuinely interactive case-study features — zone diagrams, document state systems, relationship maps — rather than static screenshots of finished interfaces.
Complete portfolio reconstruction
Rebuilt this entire archive from the ground up — new information architecture, new component system, new case-study depth — after studying documentation practice in adjacent technical fields.
What doesn't change between projects.
Structure before style.
A navigation decision made badly costs more than a colour decision made badly.
Specificity beats persuasion.
A visitor trusts a specific number more than an enthusiastic adjective.
The mobile version isn't an afterthought.
It's a different reading order, designed on its own terms.
If it doesn't help, remove it.
Most animation ideas are cut. The ones that survive answer a real question.
