Does a portfolio need a command palette?

A command palette is unambiguously useful in a codebase with thousands of files. Whether it's useful on a portfolio with roughly sixty pages is a real question, not an obvious one, and it's worth answering honestly rather than adding the feature because it looks technically impressive.

The case for keeping it here: someone who already knows they want a specific case study, or the pricing on a specific service, shouldn't have to navigate through three menus to get there. A flat, searchable index across projects, pages and articles solves a real, if occasional, need.

The discipline is in what didn't get added around it — no fuzzy AI-powered semantic search, no recent-searches history, no analytics-driven suggestions. Just a fast, honest index of every real thing on the site, searchable by the words already used to describe it. The feature earns its place by being small enough to actually maintain.
